After a long wait, Royal Enfield has told us how much the brand-new Himalayan 450 costs. The company from Chennai showed off the completely new Himalayan, except for the price, earlier this month. Now, at the Motoverse event in Goa (formerly known as Rider Mania), Royal Enfield has finally revealed how much the latest version of this adventure bike will cost.

The starting prices for the Himalayan 450 begin at Rs 2.69 lakh and go up to Rs 2.84 lakh (both ex-showroom). These prices will be in effect until 31 December 2023. Royal Enfield will have three versions of the new Himalayan – Base, Pass, and Summit.

Here are the prices for the different versions and colours of the Himalayan 450:

  • Base in Kaza Brown: Rs 2.69 lakh
  • Pass in Slate Himalayan Salt: Rs 2.74 lakh
  • Pass in Slate Poppy Blue: Rs 2.74 lakh
  • Summit in Kamet White: Rs 2.79 lakh
  • Summit in Hanle Black: Rs 2.84 lakh

The new Himalayan 450 comes with three seat options – a regular height of 825mm, a lower one also at 825mm, and a taller one at 845mm. It also has a Rally Kit that makes the seat higher at 855mm. The wheelbase and the distance between the bike and the ground have increased by 45mm and 10mm. The weight of the bike has been reduced by 3 kilograms.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: User-Friendly Features

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is loaded with nifty features like a bright LED headlight and turn signals. However, the standout feature is the digital display on the console. This intuitive screen not only displays maps from Google but also connects to your phone via Bluetooth and allows you to play music.

Additionally, the bike boasts a handy USB charging port, a ride-by-wire system with two modes (one for more power and one for fuel efficiency), and a switch to deactivate the ABS on the back wheel. Royal Enfield is also planning to offer various accessories for the Himalayan under two categories – Adventure and Rally. Keep in mind that these extras are still in the approval process and will be available at a later stage.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Engine Specifications

Powering the Himalayan 450 is an all-new 452cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine named the Sherpa 450. Marking Royal Enfield’s debut into liquid-cooled engines, this unit delivers power at 8,000 rpm and torque at 6,500 rpm. The power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a new 6-speed gearbox equipped with a slip and assist clutch.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Hardware Specifications

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 features a robust steel twin-spar tubular frame with a twin-sided swingarm. This structure is supported by a new suspension setup sourced from Showa, including 43mm upside-down forks in the front and a link-type rear monoshock, both with a 200mm travel. Braking duties are handled by larger front and rear rotors.

The bike rides on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoked wheels. Currently equipped with tubed tires, these spoked wheels will later offer the option of tubeless tires once the approval process is complete.
